The Kauai Makana shirt represents the spirit of Aloha at its highest ("Makana" means "gift" in Hawaiian). Makana mountian, located on Kauai, was one of two locations only where the fire throwing ceremony was performed. On only the most special of occassions, celebrants would throw lit wood into the sea, where the sparks would trail like fireworks and the wood would continue to burn out to sea.
